Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket has revealed its first limited-time booster pack, the Deluxe Pack EX, which will offer players a chance at getting some rare rewards they may have missed out on over the course of the game’s first 11 months. As the game’s first anniversary approaches, this new pack in Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket will offer a greater chance at high-value cards than any released before it, along with some other surprises.
The free-to-play collectible card battler, available exclusively on mobile devices, has come a long way in its first year. Since the release of Pokemon TCG Pocket on October 30, 2024, nearly 1,700 unique cards have been added to the game. These cards have been introduced through a release schedule that has seen one new set added during every month of the game’s existence except November 2024, with four of them containing multiple booster packs for players to choose from, and two free pack openings every 24 hours.

With October fast approaching, the developers at Creatures Inc. and DeNA are offering players the opportunity to celebrate the game’s first year with a look back at the A4 set through the Deluxe Pack EX. It will be released between September 29 and 30, depending on the player’s time zone, and will only be available for 30 days after release, according to the game’s official website. This first-ever limited-time pack will include cards from across the game’s first year, from the three Genetic Apex packs that came with the game at launch to the Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion that was added at the end of August, but players shouldn’t just expect to see the same old cards all over again.
As predicted a day ago in a Pokemon TCG Pocket leak following what appeared to be an accidental upload to the game’s Japanese Twitter page, the Deluxe Pack EX will not technically contain any new cards in terms of text or effects. While that news may be disappointing to those whose primary in-game focus is building new teams with which to battle, it will be a special time for collectors of the digital cards, as the Deluxe Pack EX promises previously released cards with new artwork and “parallel foil” cards that come with a new sheen.
In addition, the one-month-only pack will allow players an opportunity to try to pick up some rare Pokemon TCG Pocket cards that they may have missed in their original releases. That’s because every five-card pull from the Deluxe Pack EX is guaranteed to provide at least one card of four-diamond rarity or higher. While every other pack released so far can still be accessed from the pack-opening dashboard, the steady stream of new releases makes collecting them all difficult, and October should provide a special opportunity for avid collectors.
