Ex-Arsenal midfielder and Ousmane Dembele's France team-mate Matteo Guendouzi sung the praises of the Paris Saint-Germain forward's displays this season by saying that he was "starting to be scared of him" and going on to back the former Barcelona winger to win the highly prestigious Ballon d'Or award at the end of this year.

Dembele has been in sensational form this season. He has already scored 30 goals in 37 games in all competitions — just 10 fewer than the total he managed in six years at Barcelona. A whopping 22 of those 30 goals have come in 2025 alone, and in just 17 appearances. He's also the top scorer in Ligue 1 with 21 goals and five assists.
WHAT MATTEO GUENDOUZI SAID
Speaking to the press earlier this week, Guendouzi backed Dembele to win the Ballon d'Or (h/t Get Football News France): "What he is doing makes him a credible candidate for the Ballon d’Or. He has always had the potential to do that. He is one of the best players in the world, even without the goals, top three at the moment, but he’s adding statistics. He is just confirming what we have thought for a long time. There are plenty of players that are starting to be scared of him.”
